Control knobs & switch caps - reproduction & small batches
Knobs and switch caps are the highest-touch parts in the car, so they wear first: splines strip, caps crack, markings polish away. They are also small, detailed and long NLA for most classics. We reproduce them with the spline or D-shaft interface measured precisely - a knob that slips is useless - and with surface detail crisp enough to sit on a dashboard you look at every day.
How we make them
High-detail resin processes for crisp geometry, interface dimensions taken from your sample and the shaft it fits, finish matched by paint or dye. Batches suit clubs replacing the same worn knob across many cars.
Typical work: VW Golf Mk2 interior control knobs (191 919 383 family), heater knobs for classic Mercedes, switch caps for 70s-80s BMWs.
We reproduce control knobs & switch caps to order - send photos of any part.

My knob keeps slipping on its shaft - was that the original design?
Usually it is wear: the spline or D-profile has rounded. We measure the shaft, not just the old knob, so the reproduction grips as new.
Which process will you use?
Whichever suits the part: MJF nylon for tough functional plastics, high-detail resin for fine features, CNC for metal or high-load parts, vacuum casting for small series.
One part or a batch - how does pricing work?
The engineering is a one-time cost; per-unit price drops with quantity. We quote both so you can decide.
Your project stays yours.
Every part we reverse-engineer and produce is confidential and exclusive to the client. We do not resell, share or reproduce a client's parts for anyone else unless the client explicitly authorises it. NDAs available on request.
