Door handle & window regulator internals - reproduction & small batches

The metal parts of door and window mechanisms outlive the car; the hidden plastic gears, guides and bushes inside them do not. When a regulator guide crumbles or a handle's internal cam wears, the assembly is NLA and the visible parts are all perfect. We reverse-engineer the failed internal component - often from fragments - and reproduce it in wear-suited polymers, saving the assembly instead of hunting a replacement that carries the same tired plastic.

How we make them

Fragments reconstructed in CAD using the mechanism's geometry and travel, produced in tough, low-friction engineering polymers appropriate to sliding and rotating duty. Function checked against the mechanism's movement.

Typical work: window regulator guides and sliders, door handle internal cams and bushes for 70s-90s European cars.

Frequently asked questions

The broken gear is in pieces - is that enough to copy?

Usually yes: tooth geometry can be reconstructed from surviving sections and the mating gear, and travel limits come from the mechanism itself.

Which process will you use?

Whichever suits the part: MJF nylon for tough functional plastics, high-detail resin for fine features, CNC for metal or high-load parts, vacuum casting for small series.

The engineering is a one-time cost; per-unit price drops with quantity. We quote both so you can decide.
